TIP #1 Give Your Fridge & Pantry a Makeover!
Lets face it Temptation is the devil!!! So if it's in the fridge or pantry and its not good for you your only human and you will succumb!
If you're going to the effort of giving your body a makeover and really want that body then give the fridge and pantry a makeover and get rid of all the foods that you know are only going to send you backwards. (I'll explain in another tip how you can still lose your weight but have some cake as well)
It sounds simple enough but a change as simple as this in your household will make a massive difference to your waistline over the long run!
TIP #2 Add Some Strength Training
Strength training means any type of exercise that requires strength.
This can be exercises as simple as push ups or squats and if you can perform strength exercises 2-3 times per week you will help to keep your weight off for the following reasons:
- Strength Training increases your metabolism 24/7 even while sedentary.
- Strength Training makes your body tighter and more compact resulting in a leaner look.
- It stimulates the development and retention of lean muscle.
By using Slimina you have stimulated your metabolism into overdrive
By adding 2-3 sessions of strength training you are keeping the fire burning!
TIP #3 Not All Fats Are Created Equal
Essential fats are exactly that- Essential
Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids are the essential fatty acids(EFA's) and must be consumed on a daily basis as they contribute to keeping almost every organ and bodily function at its peak and contribute to fat burning as well.
EFA's decrease hunger, stabilize blood sugar levels, which takes away the craving for sugar and helps facilitate the absorption of vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E & K.
EFA's can be purchased from your local health stores in a number of ways such as tablet form or Flaxseed oil.
TIP #4 Consistency is The Key
If you do anything long enough it's going to work providing you're doing it right.
Consistency is the key when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off.
That's consistency in your day to day eating and consistency in your training.
To do this you will need to do the following:
- Set aside a minimum 30 mins a day to do your exercise- even a brisk walk is enough or for strength training 3x10, 15,20 push ups & 3x 5,10,15,20 squats
- Allocate some time where you plan your meals for the week to cut out the risk of snacking or not eating properly- Fail to Plan? Plan to Fail!
- Keep your basic meals simple and easy to prepare
- Eat something every 2-3 hours to stimulate the metabolism
MOST IMPORTANTLY-remember you're human..Don't give up if you have a day of poor eating or miss a work out.
Just get back on the horse the next day and keep going.
Life is a marathon, not a sprint.
TIP #5 There Is Nothing Wrong With A Bit of Cheating
Cheating has its benefits! Who can bare the thought of going without a chocolate ice cream or a pizza for 3,6 or however many months you plan to "DIET" for????
Well I'm here to tell you that on the 7th day let there be any food that your heart desires (of course within reason - balance is the key)
I don't want you to think of yourself as being on a diet but rather that you are eating clean and every week as a reward you have one day where you allow yourself to indulge in some of the foods that you give up during the week. This gives you something to look forward to and is actually not bad for you.
So choose your day and think of your breakfast, lunch and dinner for those days and look forward to dropping your weight but not having to stop living!
TIP #6 Focus on Changing Your Lifestyle
Dieting is one of those things that almost always fails in the long term. In fact, people who "diet" tend to gain more weight over time. So try making small changes to your lifestyle, like drinking more water or nut milks instead of pop or soda.
TIP #7 Ginger Lemon Juice
There's nothing that ginger is not good for. It is an essential power-packed root with nutrients and vitamins. Lemon is packed with vitamin C and other essential multi-vitamins. Together, ginger and lemon is a must-have juice that cleanses your system, protects it and it promotes skin health.
